Half century of modern lamps
is the theme of Opere di Luce, the exhibition about
lighting components as essential elements of interior
design and decoration, promoted by the Italian Ministry
for Industrial Activities, Lombardy Region,
the Italian Trade Commission, Promos-Milan Chamber
of Commerce and Italian Association of Designers. |

Opere di Luce is a collection
of lamps, with models that range from 1931 to 2005, including
several winning pieces from the Compasso d'Oro, the most
prestigious European industrial design award. |

During the varnishing, in
the heart of the Soho district at 160 Wooster Street,
everything will be illuminated, included the catering
cups: drinks will be of light water, una luce
da
bere. |

|
|
|
|
The collection has been crated
by innovative minds such as Philippe Starck,
Gae Aulenti, Renzo Piano, Max Ingrand,
Michele De Lucchi, Achille e Pier Giacomo
Castiglioni and Joe Colombo in collaboration
with renowned Italian manufacturers such as Artemide,
Flos, Fontana Arte; which are all located
in Lombardy (northern Italy). |
