Italian Lights in Soho
Exhibit opening
160 Wooster St., Soho
Half century of modern lamps is the theme of Opere di Luce, the exhibition about lighting components as essential elements of interior design and decoration, promoted by the Italian Ministry for Industrial Activities, Lombardy Region, the Italian Trade Commission, Promos-Milan Chamber of Commerce and Italian Association of Designers.
Opere di Luce is a collection of lamps, with models that range from 1931 to 2005, including several winning pieces from the Compasso d'Oro, the most prestigious European industrial design award.
During the varnishing, in the heart of the Soho district at 160 Wooster Street, everything will be illuminated, included the catering cups: drinks will be of light water, una luce … da bere.
The collection has been crated by innovative minds such as Philippe Starck, Gae Aulenti, Renzo Piano, Max Ingrand, Michele De Lucchi, Achille e Pier Giacomo Castiglioni and Joe Colombo in collaboration with renowned Italian manufacturers such as Artemide, Flos, Fontana Arte; which are all located in Lombardy (northern Italy).
